Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
Recent Summonses
On September 17, a 17-year-old male juvenile from Boothbay was issued a summons for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, by Deputy Kenneth Hatch.
On September 19, a 17-year-old male juvenile from Boothbay Harbor was issued a summons for failure to notify of motor vehicle accident, by Deputy Chad Gilbert.
Recent Accidents
On September 17, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Myron T. D. Hahn, 17, of Boothbay. Hahn was operating his 2003 Subaru Legacy southbound when he pulled the emergency brake, fooling around, and lost control of his vehicle. As a result, he struck the guardrail on the right. Deputy Kenneth Hatch was the investigating officer.
On September 17, an accident occurred on Bigelow Drive in Boothbay involving Valerie M. Young, 30, of Boothbay Harbor and Adam C. Mumford, 31, of Walpole. Young’s 2014 Subaru Forester was parked legally and Mumford was backing out of a parking space in his 2000 Subaru Impreza when he turned too sharply and the front of his vehicle struck the side of Young’s vehicle. Deputy Kenneth Hatch was the investigating officer.
On September 18, an accident occurred on Butler Road in Boothbay involving Joshua B. Pearce, 23, of Boothbay. Pearce was operating his 2001 Buick Regal southbound when he drove off the roadway and struck some rocks. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On September 18, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Diane Robinson, 69, of Wiscasset and Shane D. Sidelinger, 20, of Damariscotta. Sidelinger was operating his 1996 Mazda northbound when Robinson began to enter the roadway from the Midcoast Federal Credit Union parking lot. Sidelinger saw Robinson entering Route 1 and slammed on his brakes to avoid a collision, however, he lost control of his vehicle and struck the front of Robinson’s vehicle. Deputy Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On September 19, an accident occurred on Academy Hill in Newcastle involving Nathaniel O. Friant, 17, of Boothbay Harbor and Caleb Mullen, 16, of South Bristol. Friant was operating his 2005 Chevrolet Impala eastbound on Business Route 1 and turned left onto Academy Hill Road. Mullen was operating his 2011 Toyota Sienna northbound from Business Route 1 onto Academy Hill Road when Friant failed to stop at the stop sign and struck Mullen’s vehicle. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On September 19, an accident occurred on River Road in Newcastle involving Sandy L. Timberlake-Tibbetts, 42, of Southport. Timberlake-Tibbetts was operating her 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer northbound when it was struck by a deer as it attempted to cross the roadway traveling west from the northbound shoulder. Lt. Rand Maker was the investigating officer.
