Sheriff’s report
Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On October 9, Deputy Chad Gilbert responded to a report of Criminal Mischief in the Southport Island area. The complainant stated that someone had shot his mailbox with a shotgun. Estimated value: $50.
On October 12, Reserve Deputy Jennifer Sherman responded to a report of a theft of a large cement statue of a black Labrador dog in the Boothbay area. The complainant stated the statue was there Friday around 7 p.m. Further investigation if leads develop.
On October 13, Reserve Deputy Mark Walsh responded to a report of vandalized mailboxes in the Southport Island area. Three mailboxes were found visibly damaged and on the ground. The support structures were also destroyed. Further investigation if leads develop.
On October 14, Reserve Deputy Richard Woodward responded to a report of a stolen dinghy and two vandalized benches in the Southport Island area. The complainant stated that someone had thrown two wooden benches (valued at approximately $350 a piece, into the water and stole an 8-foot white fiberglass dinghy, valued at approximately $2,000). Further investigation to follow.
Recent Summons
On October 12, Ali K. Hartley, 23, of Boothbay Harbor was issued a summons for operating under the influence, on River Road, Edgecomb, by Sgt. Brendan Kane.
Recent Arrest
On October 11, Joseph F. Pinkham, 27, of Boothbay was arrested for possession of sexual explicit material of minor under 12, on Wiscasset Road, Boothbay, by Det. Scott Hayden.
