Sheriff’s report
Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On October 15, Deputy Matthew Day took a report of criminal mischief to the lighthouse on Beach Road in Southport. Investigation found someone(s) had damaged the door and broke a pane of glass. Total damage is approximately $300. Further investigation to follow if leads develop.
On October 19, Reserve Deputy Richard Woodward was dispatched to report of a damaged mailbox in the Boothbay area. The complainant stated that sometime during the night, around 11 p.m., he heard a loud bang and discovered his mailbox had been damaged, along with several of his neighbors' mailboxes. At this time, there are no suspects or leads.
Recent Accidents
On October 17, an accident occurred on Dover Road in Boothbay involving Brandi Arsenault, 32, of Boothbay. Arsenault was operating her 2002 Dodge Durango northbound when a deer entered the roadway. Arsenault avoided the deer, however, her vehicle went off the roadway and struck a utility pole. Deputy Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On October 19, an accident occurred on Bog Road in Dresden involving Nicholas A. Hrankowski, 17, of Alna. Hrankowski was operating his 2000 Saturn southbound when a deer ran out in front of his vehicle. Hrankowski swerved to avoid the deer and ran off the roadway on the right side, causing his vehicle to flip onto its roof. Det. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On October 19, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Stephanie Berry, 49, of Boothbay. Berry was operating her 2011 Subaru southbound when she attempted to turn into a driveway and as she made the turn, she made contact with a rock that acted as a driveway marker. Reserve Deputy Richard Woodward was the investigating officer.
