A Wiscasset woman has been charged with aggravated assault after she allegedly struck another woman in the face with a beer bottle.

Jade Robbins, 24, of Wiscasset, was charged with tampering with a witness and aggravated assault after she was arrested March 30 by the Wiscasset Police at the Schooner Inn.

Robbins allegedly struck the woman in the early hours of March 30 at the Schooner Inn. Robbins is alleged to have followed the woman to her car, where she struck her repeatedly in the face with her fists then hit her across the left cheek with a beer bottle, according to the police report.

The victim stated that she believed she lost consciousness for a moment during the alleged beating; she also stated that Robbins allegedly told the victim that she ruined her family's lives by filing a domestic violence charge against a member of Robbins' family.

After the incident, the victim drove herself to Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta.

Robbins has been charged with tampering with a witness, which is a Class C crime, and aggravated assault, which is a Class B crime.

Class B crimes are punishable by up to 10 years in prison and $20,000 in fines, while Class C crimes carry a punishment of up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

She was ordered not to have any contact with the victim, not to use or possess alcohol or drugs, and not to have any weapons. She was held on a secured bail and released Monday, March 31 from Two Bridges Regional Jail. She will have a court date May 1 at the Lincoln County Court House.
