Waldoboro police beat: Many thefts — propeller, chainsaw, tools, copper, money
WALDOBORO – Waldoboro police reported the following activity, May 13-June 2. Waldoboro officers responded to 162 calls for service in this time period. Below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
May 13
Officer Larry Hesseltine is investigating a report of the theft of some copper piping and wiring.
Officer Thomas Bartunek is investigating a report of the theft of a chainsaw.
Bartunek summonsed Holly Flagg, 52, of Waldoboro for an uninspected motor vehicle.
May 14
Chief William Labombarde is investigating a report of the theft of money.
May 15
Officer Larry Hesseltine is investigating a report from Larry Wellman of the theft of a boat propeller, $450 value.
Hesseltine investigated an accident on the Bremen Road at 11:15 a.m. Sumner Keith, 21, of Nobleboro, was driving a 2006 Hyundai sedan southbound on the Bremen Road, lost control, crossed over into the northbound lane, and left the road on the left side, hitting a tree. There were no injuries; charges pending.
Officer Andrew Santheson investigated an accident on the Main Street. Keith Shaw, 42, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet sedan. Steven Ewing, 37, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2008 Toyota sedan. The Toyota was parked, with no driver in the middle of parking lot. The Chevrolet was backing out of parking space when the left rear corner of vehicle struck the Toyota right front corner. No injuries.

May 20
Officer Larry Hesseltine investigated a hit and run accident on the Atlantic Highway that was reported at 10:30 a.m. Jasmyn Rose, 23, of Waldoboro, had her 2014 Toyota sedan legally parked in a parking space in front of Car Quest. She was parked for several hours when the owner/last known operator found that the vehicle had been hit.
Officer Thomas Bartunek summonsed Cynthia Watson, 65, of Boothbay Harbor for uninspected motor vehicle.
May 21
Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated an accident on the Manktown Road at 3:55 p.m. Allan Ray, 76, of Newcastle, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet school bus. Christina Falla, 35, of South Thomaston, was driving a 2012 Chevrolet sedan. She was parked legally in school parking lot when Ray was attempting to back out of parking spot, failed to see the sedan, and struck it in rear passenger corner. There were no injuries.
May 22
Officer Thomas Bartunek arrested Jessica Parker, 32, of Waldoboro for burglary and theft.
Bartunek investigated a report of computer harassment.
Sergeant Jamie Wilson investigated a report of harassment. Subjects were found and warned on harassment.
Officer Jeffrey Fuller investigated the report of the theft of a chainsaw and sign.
May 24
Officer Jeffery Fuller summonsed Robert Lacombe, Jr., 30, of Waldoboro for operating after suspension.
May 25
Officer John Lash summonsed Lester Feltis, 44, of Waldoboro, for speed.
May 26
Bartunek summonsed Stephanie Schaffner, 26, of South Portland for an uninspected motor vehicle.
Fuller summonsed a 15-year-old male for assault and terrorizing.
May 27
Officer Larry Hesseltine investigated a report from Maritime Farms of the theft of $47.42 in gasoline. Subject was located and returned to pay for gas.
May 29
Sergeant Jamie Wilson arrested Steven Reed, 60, of Waldoboro, for operating under the influence.
May 30
Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated a report of a shed break-in and theft of tools.
Fuller investigated a report that someone is going through mail.
June 1
Fuller is investigating a report of criminal mischief done to a store.
Officer John Lash investigated a report of harassing phone calls. Subject was found and warned.
