Novel Jazz brings classic Ellington and Strayhorn to Bristol Mills
The Novel Jazz Septet will be in concert on Saturday, July 23 at the Congregational Church of Bristol Mills for an evening of classic jazz by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn, two pillars of the jazz world.
The band will play both well-known standards plus lesser-known compositions, recently transcribed from original scores at the Smithsonian.
Admission $15 for adults and $7 for children under 12. The show begins at 7 p.m. For more information call 207-563-6843.
The church is located at 1261 Bristol Road in the village of Bristol Mills, six miles south of Damariscotta on Route 130 (Bristol Road), across from the town hall. Parking is readily available in front of the Parish House, behind the church (off Longfellow School Road) and on the street.
