Gloria M. Goud
Gloria M. Goud, 86 of Dresden died September 30, 2016 in Freeport at the Hawthorne House after a long fight with Alzheimer's.
Gloria was born to Clyde and Lela Dodge Perkins on September 14, 1930 in Bath, Maine. She graduated from Bridge Academy in Dresden, Maine in 1948. Gloria married Calvin E Goud of Dresden on January 8, 1949. Gloria worked as the manager at Mike’s Log Cabin in Wiscasset, Maine for several years. Gloria had many joys in her life; such as hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed the babies and held them dear to her heart.
Gloria was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Calvin E. Goud; her daughter, Linda Goud Chapman; a sister, Dorothy Perkins Atkinson; and a brother, Elwood Perkins, all of Dresden.
Gloria is survived by her son, Edward C. Goud of Wiscasset and his wife Wendy; her son-in-law, Paul Chapman Sr. of Dresden; her brother, Clyde Perkins Jr. of Dresden; her brother, Keith Perkins of Dresden; her grandson, Paul Chapman Jr., her granddaughter, Laurie Chapman Trask and husband Douglas Trask; her grandson, Anthony Chapman and his wife Janie; her grandson, Duane Goud and wife Trish; her granddaughter, Liza Goud Libby and her husband Daniel; and 10 great-grandchildren.
There will be a viewing Saturday, Sept. 8 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner followed by a graveside service at Pine Grove Cemetery at 1 p.m., located on Blinn Hill in Dresden. Arrangements are by Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner.
