David Blanchard, 62, of Boothbay Harbor, died December 25, 2016 in the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough.

David was born in Brockton, Massachusetts on May 20, 1954 and was the son of the late Ellsworth and Barbara (Bassett) Blanchard.  He grew up in Stoughton, Massachusetts and was a graduate of Stoughton High School.

He was employed as a welder at Westinghouse in Readville, Massachusetts for many years. He later worked as a maintenance worker at the Brunswick Naval Air Station Hotel. David was a Past Master for the Grand Lodge in Boston. David was an animal lover and enjoyed camping and watching television.

He is survived by his sisters, Deborah Hansen and her husband Ron of Boothbay Harbor and Melanie Hansen of Sanford; and a brother, Robert Blanchard and his wife Karen of Middleboro, Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews.
