Contradance night in Damariscotta
Musicians Jamie Oshima and John Pranio — from the wilds of Whitefeld – are headlining the Second Friday Contradance Friday, March 10 at 6:30 p.m. This is a family dance where easy dances will be taught accompanied by the Oyster Creek Fiddlers & Friends. Local musicians are welcome to sit in.
During the 7:30 p.m. break, refreshments will be available. Folks are encouraged to bring snacks and sweets for a dessert potluck.
At the 8 p.m. (second) dance, caller Lani Palm will lead dancers to the music of Jamie Oshima and John Pranio.
Suggested donations for just the early family dance are $4/adults, $2/students; and for both dances, $8/adults and $5/students. This contradance series is an initiative by local musicians and Lincoln Academy students who love to dance.
Dust off those dancing shoes to help protect the dance floor by carefully wiping off the grit from your boots or bringing clean dancing shoes (bare feet and socks are fine too).
The dance will be held at the Damariscotta Baptist Church Hall, entrance on Main Street, Damariscotta.
