“Wonder Woman” plays through June 28 at The Harbor Theatre followed by the premiere of “Despicable Me 3.”

After making an appearance in last year's “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” Wonder Woman now gets her own feature film. American pilot Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) crashes offshore of the island of Themyscira during World War I, where he meets Diana, princess of the Amazons, who has been trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on the sheltered island paradise, Diana learns of the massive war effort raging in the outside world. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time to fight alongside men in a war to end all wars.

Reviewing for Newsday, Rafer Guzman writes, “‘Wonder Woman’ isn't just a triumph for women, it's a triumph, period. This is grand entertainment with rousing action, sparkling humor, a romantic streak and a titanium-strength debut from Gal Gadot in the title role.”

“Wonder Woman” plays evenings at 7 p.m., through June 28 and Sunday, June 25 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The adventures of Gru, Lucy, their adorable daughters, Margo, Edith and Agnes, and the Minions return in “Despicable Me 3.” Joining Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig is Emmy, Tony and Grammy Award winner Trey Parker, co-creator of Comedy Central’s global phenomenon “South Park” and the Broadway smash. “The Book of Mormon.”

Parker voices the role of villain Balthazar Bratt, a former child star who’s grown up to become obsessed with the character he played in the ’80s, and proves to be Gru’s most formidable nemesis to date.
“Despicable Me 3” premieres at The Harbor Theatre on Thursday, June 29 at 7 p.m. and continues nightly at 7 through July 13 with Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.

NT Live: “Salomé” -  The story has been told before, but never like this. An occupied desert nation. A radical from the wilderness on hunger strike. A girl whose mysterious dance will change the course of the world. This charged retelling turns the infamous biblical tale on its head, placing the girl we call Salomé at the center of a revolution. Internationally acclaimed theatre director Yaël Farber (Les Blancs) draws on multiple accounts to create her urgent, hypnotic production which will be broadcast live from the stage of the National Theatre. (2 hours, no intermission) Screens live Thursday, June 22 at 2 p.m. with a rebroadcast at  7 p.m.

“The Lovers”  - A refreshing, funny look at love, fidelity, and family, starring Debra Winger and Tracy Letts as a long-married and completely dispassionate husband and wife. Both are in the midst of serious affairs and are increasingly committed to their new partners. But on the brink of officially calling it quits, a spark between them suddenly and unexpectedly reignites, leading them into an impulsive romance that forces them to navigate the hilarious complications of "cheating" on their respective lovers in this uniquely honest take on modern marriage. Y-ARTS Theater Music Camp Show -  Starring campers in grades 1-9 who immerse themselves in the art of musical theater during this two-week day camp, which focuses is on all areas of the dramatic arts and culminates on a junior Broadway musical.  The show is picked based on the campers in each particular session. This summer our shows will be chosen from “Peter Pan Jr.,” “Once On This Island Jr.,” “Honk Jr.,” and “Alice in Wonderland Jr.”  Wednesday, June 28 at 1 and 5 p.m.

NT Live: “Amadeus” -  Music. Power. Jealousy. Lucian Msamati (Luther, Game of Thrones, NT Live: The Comedy of Errors) plays Salieri in Peter Shaffer’s iconic play, broadcast live from the National Theatre, and with live orchestral accompaniment by Southbank Sinfonia. Playing Thursday, June 29 at 2 and 7 p.m.
