Free live music and fairy house building
Enjoy the holiday weekend with free live music and fairy house building at Oxbow Brewing Company's farmhouse brewery in Newcastle. On Friday, Oct. 6, the O.G.'s will be back for a free concert featuring Eric Green along with Tommy O'Connell; listen to the blues from 6:30-9 p.m.
Weather permitting, there will also be a campfire and the Tasting Room will stay open until 9 p.m. Customers can bring their own food and enjoy a picnic. Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are available to purchase in the Tasting Room.
On Saturday, Oct. 7, Oxbow invites the public to make their own fairy house from noon to 7 p.m. along a wooded path behind the Tasting Room that leads to miles of recreational trails open to the public. Oxbow is hoping folks will help create a fairyland by using non-invasive, natural materials such as sticks, bark and stones to create a basic shape that can be embellished with dried flowers, pine cones, milkweed pods, leaves, dry grasses or hay.
Oxbow’s Farmhouse Brewery is located at 274 Jones Woods Road, Newcastle. Parking is limited - carpooling encouraged! For more information, visit http://www.oxbowbeer.com
