It was standing room only at the Boothbay Region Art Foundation the evening of Oct. 14 for the ARTinME awards ceremony. Juror Chris Crosman selected 106 works from 216 submissions from artists statewide.

Voting for the People’s Choice Award began during the evening’s festivities and will continue through Nov. 12. The winner will be announced at the BRAF’s annual Art in the Square show opening Dec. 2. The People’s Choice award of $500 is provided by Knickerbocker Group.
Crossman was director of the Farnsworth Art Museum for 18 years. He is also the founding chief curator of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas.
Crossman has written extensively about American art and artists, including serving as editor and principal essayist for Celebrating the American Spirit, the inaugural publication of the collection of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, authoring “Islands for Andrew Wyeth: In Retrospect,” an exhibition opening at the Brandywine Museum, Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, and traveling to the Seattle Art Museum this fall. He lives in Thomaston, where he is an independent curator, consultant and writer.
