The St. Cecilia Chamber Choir is holding auditions for all voice parts - now.
St. Cecilia is an auditioned community chorus that rehearses Wednesday evenings at St. Andrew’s Church in Newcastle. Sopranos and altos should be able to sing with a straight tone, and all singers should have a finely tuned ear and be eager for a challenge
The group will resume rehearsals on Jan. 16 in preparation for concerts on May 4 and 5. The concerts will feature choral favorites such as Gustav Holst’s “6 Choral Folksongs,” “Op.36,” Morten Lauridsen’s exquisite setting of the Rainer Maria Rilke poem “Dirait-On,” works by Ned Rorem, and more! Practice materials are provided for learning music at home.
