Boothbay Food & Music Festival announced
The Boothbay community welcomes all to join us for three days of Maine’s best food, beer, wine, entertainment and music for all to enjoy. There will be something for everyone!
The first-ever Boothbay Food & Music Festival, Sept. 20-22, will kick-off with the popular Claw Down on Thursday evening. At this perennial favorite, top chefs will compete to bring their own unique take on the perfect lobster bite. The excitement continues with a Dinner Dance on Friday night with decadent dining and dancing under the stars. A Family Fest will take place on Saturday with games and performances that the whole family will enjoy. The festival will culminate with a Music Fest on Saturday night that you won’t want to miss! This fun-filled festival will host performers ranging from the incredible Rupert’s Orchestra, Dr. Zog, Motor Booty Affair to Wacky Chad from America’s Got Talent.
This inaugural event is a community-wide, collaborative effort led by local businesses and residents working together and brought to you by the generous support of our valued sponsors.
Proceeds from the festival will benefit several local non-profit organizations, three of which are focused on helping children and young adults from our region: Boothbay Region YMCA, Boothbay Region Student Aid Fund and the Boothbay Region Community Resources Council. The other beneficiaries are the Boothbay Railway Village and the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce.
“Thanks to the generous sponsorship of this event, the Boothbay Region YMCA is able to enhance the lives of thousands of youth, families and seniors in our community. Thank you for helping the Y impact lives,” said Andy Hamblett, executive director of the Y.
“As a board member of the Boothbay Region Community Resource Council, Boothbay Railway Village and the Boothbay Region YMCA, I am grateful that a portion of the proceeds from the Boothbay Food & Music Festival will be given to support local children and youth,” said Holly Stover.
“We’re so thrilled that the Boothbay Region Student Aid Fund was selected as a beneficiary of the 2018 Boothbay Food & Music Festival,” said board member Michael Maxim. “BRSAF will be able to utilize those funds on a return investment for our future: students who graduate from Boothbay Region High School, no matter the graduating year.”
