Brass band and juggling first weekend in June
Music and entertainment will be high-flying at the Opera House this June. On Friday, June 5 the U.S. Air Force brings its Heritage of America Brass Band to Boothbay Harbor and the next night the acclaimed juggling duo, The Tardy Brothers, arrive on the historic stage.
Comprising 10 brass players and a percussionist, the Heritage of America Brass Band will present a diverse repertoire featuring patriotic favorites, jazz standards, orchestral transcriptions and new compositions. As profession Airmen-musicians, Heritage Brass is committed to inspiring audiences and honoring the nation’s veterans through the power of music.
The Air Force band’s concert begins at 7:30 p.m., with doors for seating opening at 7 p.m. This performance is sponsored by the Opera House and no tickets are needed, but audience members are advised to arrive early for best seat selection. Donations to help support the continuing operation of the historic building will be gratefully accepted on the night of the concert.
Tardy Brothers
As the airmen leave Boothbay Harbor, the flying juggling antics of the internationally touring Tardy Brothers will come to the Opera House stage on Saturday, June 6 for a performance beginning at 7 p.m.
Matthew and Jason Tardy have been touring professionally at theaters, colleges and resorts for over 17 years including the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas, the Golden Phoenix Casino in Reno, Nevada, and even the White House in Washington, D.C. three times. They have been seen on CBS’ “Sunday Morning,” “Inside Edition,” and David Letterman and are called one of the hottest juggling acts in the country.
Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth. On the day of the show all tickets are $12.
