Call to Artists: Third annual ‘What's Nude in Boothbay Harbor?’
Get ready for a celebration of the human form with the Third Annual “What’s Nude in Boothbay Harbor?” a show featuring nude paintings, paper work, fiber, sculpture and photography at the Boothbay Region Art Foundation in Boothbay Harbor.
The show opens Valentine’s Day, Thursday, Feb. 14. An Opening Reception will be held Saturday, Feb. 16 from 4-6 p.m. And on closing night, Saturday, Feb. 23, an artist’s potluck and pick up party from 4-6 p.m.
Exhibiting nudity can be challenging in a traditional and conservative New England, but this third exhibition of "What's Nude" will endeavor to once again present through a variety of interpretations, the beauty and shape of the human form through paintings, paper work, fiber, sculpture and photography. Artists are invited to submit two pieces of work to the show. The submission deadline is Jan. 28.
We will once again feature the popular “Small Nudes Wall” where attendees can purchase an original small nude with all proceeds going directly to the artist.
"What's Nude in Boothbay Harbor?" offers something unique and fun to break up the long winter months and help celebrate Valentine's Day! Plan to stay in Boothbay for the weekend at one of the local B&B's, dine in one of the region's new "foodie" restaurants, shop, or simply take in all the magic and beauty the Boothbay Harbor Region has to offer.
For more information or to request a submission form call the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce at 633-2353 or email: patricia@boothbayharbor.com
