Carol Jane Orne, of East Falmouth, Massachusetts and formerly of Boothbay Harbor, Maine, died June 2, 2022 at Royal Megansett Nursing Home in North Falmouth, Massachusetts. She was 80 years old.

She was born in 1941 at St. Andrews Hospital in Boothbay Harbor. She graduated from Boothbay Region High School in 1959 and Westbrook Junior College in 1961. She worked at John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company in Boston and then at The Depositors Trust Company in Boothbay Harbor. She moved to East Falmouth in 1978. She worked for Plymouth Saving Bank for 27 years and then for Eastern Bank for two years. She enjoyed traveling and reading.

She is survived by her son Christopher Orne and his wife Jennifer of East Falmouth; her sister Betsy Clifford and her husband Roger of Englewood, Florida; her niece Sarah Marcotte of Bourne, Massachusetts; her nephew Joel Clifford and his wife Kim of Mashpee, Massachusetts; and 5 great nephews and nieces.

She was predeceased by her parents Dana and Jane (Brown) Reed of Boothbay.

Visitation will be held on Monday June 13 from 5 to 6 p.m. with a service at 6 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 475 Main St., Falmouth. MA. Burial will be private in Boothbay.
