Cecelia K. McDaniel-Knapp
Cecelia Kay McDaniel-Knapp (Kayce), age 77, of Boothbay Harbor passed away surrounded by the love of her family and friends on Dec. 15, 2021.
Kayce was born on May 3, 1944 to George and Irene Bolt. She grew up in Georgia, where she gained many of her core values including a love for entertaining, always having more than enough food on the table, loving freely and fiercely, and welcoming everyone with a warm smile. She always said that's where she "learned to talk" and that classic southern drawl added an additional appeal to her charm and cunning. There wasn't an animal she didn't love and you'd often find her under a pile of her beloved kitties. Her fun, fiery Spirit and ability to make a room erupt in laughter will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
She married the love of her life, Greg Knapp, in 1987 and the adventures that they shared over the next nearly 34 years were enviable. A love like theirs made the world a better place.
She is survived by her adoring husband, Greg; her two children, Michael McDaniel and Kelli McDaniel; her grandchildren, Aubrey Caldwell (Jake Readinger) and Eden Climo (Adam Climo); and her great-grandson, Griffin Climo, in addition to countless friends who were loved like family.
A Catholic Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec.. 23 at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Boothbay Harbor.
