CPR and AED course begins Oct. 26
It only takes one evening to learn how to save a life. LincolnHealth and Central Lincoln County Adult Education are offering Heartsaver® Adult/Child/Infant CPR/AED Wednesday, Oct. 26 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the LincolnHealth Education Center in Damariscotta.
Each year an estimated 166,000 lives are claimed by sudden cardiac arrest. That is about 455 people each day. Effective bystander CPR, provided immediately after a sudden cardiac arrest, can double or even triple a victim’s chance of survival. Almost 80 percent of cardiac arrests occur at home and are witnessed by a family member.
This course will cover basic adult, child and infant CPR skills as well AED (automated external defibrillator) training for the lay person and non-healthcare worker who needs CPR certification. It includes American Heart Association CPR certification.
The cost of the course is $49 and registration is easy. Online, just click a class at clc.maineadulted.org, or for more information about this or other fall classes, please call us at 563-2811, or email us at clcae@aos93.org,
