CTL students win Scholastic Writing Contest regional awards
The Northeast Region of the Scholastic Writing Competition has recognized five middle-school students from Edgecomb’s Center for Teaching and Learning for excellence in writing.
Meghan Arnold of Alna, Octavia Aurora of Edgecomb, and Morganne Phelps of Damariscotta received the competition’s highest honor, a Gold Key, for their poetry. Honorable Mentions were awarded to Lily Coleman of Whitefield and Vivian McKinney of Westport Island for their poetry as well.
The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards are the gold standard for recognizing the creative achievements of U.S. students in grades 7-12. Gold Key works have been automatically advanced to the national level of judging in New York City. National Medalists will be announced on June 12, 2024.
