Damariscotta Police Report: A theft investigation and a possible hit-and-run
The Damariscotta police report the following activity from Dec. 7, to Dec. 13, 2015:
Dec. 7
Chief Young conducted speed enforcement in the school zone on Main Street.
Alexa Oliver of Damariscotta was warned for a defect and inspection on Main Street by Chief Young.
Sean Williams of Damariscotta was arrested on Main Street for outstanding warrants by Chief Young.
Chief Young is investigating a report of theft on Schooner Street.
Annette Rundall of Nobleboro was warned for speeding and summonsed for possession of marijuana on Main Street by Chief Young.
Andrew Russ of Damariscotta was warned for failing to stop at a stop sign on Rte. 1 by Sgt. Warlick.
Dec. 8
Chief Young investigated a report of a canoe that had washed ashore on Pumping Station Lane. Contact was made with the owner.
Chief Young took a report of harassment on Jackie’s Trail.
Sgt. Warlick assisted a citizen on Main Street and investigated a report of suspicious activity on Phillips Lane
Dec. 9
Chief Young conducted a radar detail on Bristol Road.
Gwendolyn Waltz of Whitefield was warned for speeding on Bristol Road by Chief Young.
Rachel Collamore of Damariscotta was warned for speeding on Back Meadow Road by Chief Young.
Chief Young received a report of an erratic vehicle on Route 1, assisted citizens at the police department, received a report of students throwing items out a bus window traveling on Route 1, and investigated a report of a possible hit-and-run accident on Elm Street, the offending vehicle called to report the accident and returned to the scene, damage was non-reportable.
Sgt. Warlick investigated a report of possible juvenile problem on Ledgewood Court. It was unfounded.
Sgt. Warlick assisted with a traffic stop on Main Street.
Dec. 10
Chief Young assisted citizens at the police department and investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle on Back Meadow Road.
Officer Sylvester received a report of an erratic vehicle on Route 1.
Luther Tolman of Vinalhaven was warned for operation on Route 1.
Dec. 11
Sgt. Warlick conducted speed enforcement in the school zone on Main Street, took a late report of a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Main Street, assisted a citizen at the police department, investigated a report of suspicious activity on Bristol Road, conducted speed enforcement in the school zone on Main Street, and took a police information report on Main St.
Dec. 12
Officer Dotson investigated an alarm on Coastal Market Drive.
Donald Stevenson of Round Pond was warned for a defect by Officer Sylvester on Biscay Road.
Officer Sylvester investigated a report of suspicious activity on Woods Lane.
Dec. 13
Officer Dotson assisted with traffic control while the fire dept. filled the ice rink on Main Street and took a police information report on Center Street
Officer Sylvester conducted a pedestrian check on Main Street and investigated a report of criminal mischief on Main Street.
Carol Manley of Washington was warned for a defect on Main Street.
Damariscotta Police Department responded to 115 calls for service during the time period of Dec. 7 to Dec. 13, 2015 including: 1 burglar alarm, 8 citizen assist, 71 property checks, 1 criminal mischief, 2 community policing, 1 harassment, 1 tip line information, 1 assist other, 3 motor vehicle accidents, 11 motor vehicle stops, 1 pedestrian check, 2 police information, 1 special detail, 1 theft/forgery/fraud, 5 traffic control. 10 citations or warnings were issued and 1 summons was issued.
