Diabetes Support Group meets
The public is invited to join LincolnHealth Wound Care Center Director Mike Boardman and nursing wound care specialist Judi Olson, RN for the May 27 meeting of the LincolnHealth Diabetes Support Group.
Your local Wound Care Center is a comprehensive team of wound care specialists committed to the treatment of chronic or non-healing wounds. Boardman will provide an overview of wound care as a growing industry across the nation as the “Baby Boomer” population ages. Olson will discuss a recent case study of a person living with diabetes who was successfully treated at the Wound Care Center in Boothbay Harbor.
The Lincoln County Healthcare Diabetes Support Group meets 1 to 2:15 p.m. every other month, usually on the fourth Wednesday of the month, to share experiences and send the message that no one should have to deal with diabetes alone. Meetings are held on the third floor of the Miles Campus building.
The Diabetes Education Program provides a range of services to diabetes patients and their families and has achieved American Association of Diabetes Educators recognition for the provision of quality services. Originally recognized in September of 2001, the program was recertified in February 2013.
