Dresden man hurt in accident
A 24-year-old Dresden man was in fair condition at Maine Medical Center on Monday, Dec. 14, following a Dec. 8, one-car accident in Dresden that seriously injured him.
An initial investigation at the crash scene by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, after a 9-1-1 call was made to Lincoln County Communications at 11:19 p.m., revealed a 1996 Dodge pickup, operated by Adam Peaslee, was traveling south on Middle Road at a high speed. As the vehicle entered a right curve, Peaslee lost control. The vehicle entered the south bound shoulder where it struck a rock and rolled over. Peaslee who was the sole occupant of the vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle.
Peaslee was transported directly to Maine Medical Center in Portland with what were believed to be life-threatening injuries. He was initially listed in critical condition; his condition was fair on Monday night, hospital staff said.
The primary investigating officer is Deputy Ryan Chubbuck who was assisted by Sgt. Matthew Day. A reconstruction of the crash was being conducted by Crash Reconstruction Specialist Sgt. Jason Nein.
Members of the Dresden Fire Department and Gardiner Rescue also responded to the scene. Middle Road was closed to traffic for approximately three hours during the initial investigation.
