Dresden man jailed for illegal contact rearrested
A Dresden man has been charged with a trio of crimes after he allegedly broke a restraining order twice.
Nathan Peaslee, 25, of Dresden was arrested twice in two days for allegedly violating a protective order and for possession of a scheduled drug.
Peaslee was arrested Wednesday, Oct. 28 after Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Simon Yorks was alerted to Peaslee allegedly making contact with a woman who had a protection from abuse (PFA) order against him.
When Yorks visited Peaslee's home he allegedly found Peaslee and the woman together. While Yorks was putting Peaslee under arrest, a pill allegedly fell from Peaslee’s pocket. Yorks also allegedly found a small amount of marijuana on Peaslee.
The pill was identified as Vyvanse, which is a drug typically prescribed to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder and is classified as a Schedule W drug.
On Friday, Oct. 30, the woman reportedly went to Two Bridges Regional Jail’s lobby trying to meet with Peaslee. According to Deputy Paul Rubashkin's report, he knew that the woman had previously filed a PFA order against Peaslee and that one of the reasons he'd been arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 28 was because he had allegedly made illegal contact with the woman.
On Friday she reportedly said she had permission to visit with Peaslee, however, the jail allegedly turned her away as she didn't have the proper identification needed to enter.
Afterwards, Rubashkin went to the phone logs and reportedly found that Peaslee had called the woman twice – once at 8:57 a.m. and again at 10:10 a.m. – under the pretense of calling someone else.
According to Rubashkin's report, the conversation revolved around repealing the PFA. Rubashkin arrested Peaslee shortly thereafter and charged him with Class D violating the conditions of his release. He was held on $250 cash bail at the jail.
All charges brought against Peaslee have been Class D charges, which are classified as misdemeanors. If convicted, Peaslee could face up to 364 days in jail and up to a $2,000 fine for each of the Class D charges. He will have a court date Dec. 14 at the Lincoln County Unified Court.
