Edgecomb Community Church recently hired a full-time pianist, Joseph Cough Jr. of Waldoboro. Cough received his bachelor of arts in human ecology at the College of the Atlantic and received his master of music: vocal performance from the University of Maine.  Joe sings bass and plays guitar.

Joe’s most recent employment was at the Midcoast Music Academy where he taught voice, digital audio, piano, guitar, and songwriting.  He was also a teaching artist leader with the Maine Arts Leadership Institute where he conducted workshops to direct the expansion of existing music programs to adapt to new academic requirements.  He trained colleagues in music mindset approaches and networked with educators and teachers across Maine and discussed ideas to better serve students. 

For the past 10 years, Joe has also been playing piano and organ for various churches, most recently for Broad Bay Church in Waldoboro.  He has even composed pieces when needed. 

Joe lives in Waldoboro with his wife, Lindsay and their two sons, Gordon and Gregor.
