Former Wiscasset man charged with terrorizing, assault
A former Wiscasset man who was convicted of assault on a baby has been rearrested.
Tylor Miller, 20, formerly of Wiscasset and currently residing in Somerville, was arrested May 8 by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office after he allegedly struck a woman.
On May 4, Sheriff’s Deputy Justin Drake responded to a Jefferson address, after Miller reported that the woman was accessing his Facebook account against his wishes. When Drake spoke with the victim, she disclosed that she allegedly had been assaulted by Miller.
According to Detective Jared Mitkus's report, he and Drake viewed photographs of the victim's injuries she claimed came from Miller. The alleged assault reportedly happened in early-April when the pair were driving. According to Mitkus's report, the two were driving when an argument ensued, the victim claimed.
Miller is alleged to have grabbed the back of the victim's head and began “smashing her head off the dash” according to the report. When the victim reportedly asked to be let out of the car, Miller is alleged to have pushed her out of the car, although she would later reenter the vehicle.
When asked why she didn't report the alleged crime sooner, the victim reportedly told Mitkus that Miller allegedly continued to threaten her, even going so far as to say he would burn her house down or harm her if she reported the crime.
According to Miller, he was mad at the victim during the car ride because she was reportedly talking to boy friends in Augusta. Miller allegedly told Mitkus that the victim wanted to jump out of the moving car, so he slowed down so she could get out. Miller denied hitting the victim, and said her injuries were likely caused by the victim falling, or from her mother.
Miller was arrested and transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail, where he was held without bail.
Miller was charged with Class D domestic violence assault, and two counts of Class D domestic violence terrorizing. Class D crimes are misdemeanors, and are punishable by up to 364 days in jail and up to a $2,000 fine.
Miller was arrested in 2013 after he struck a six-month-old child. In that case, Waldoboro Police Department Detective Jason Benefield was contacted by the Department of Health and Human Services after DHHS received an anonymous tip. Both of the child's eyelids were bruised, and he had bruising over his body.
The child was sent to Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta, then later to Maine Medical Center in Portland.
For the incident, Miller was originally charged with two separate counts of assault and violating the conditions of his release, from an earlier arrest. As part of his pleading guilty to one count of Class C assault, the other two charges were dropped.
Miller was sentenced to five years in prison with all but one year suspended. He also received four years of probation as part of his sentence.
Miller will have a court date June 22 at the Lincoln County District Court.
