Friday Night Soiree with Kat Logan
River Arts in Damariscotta will host a Friday Night Soiree on June 22 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with a special musical performance by Kat Logan. Logan’s folk music has traditional influences as well as connections to Celtic, blues and Americana. She performs her original songs on guitar, accordion and piano. Her lovely lyrical voice is a treat to hear. After the musical performance, there will be time for discussion of art as Logan is also an accomplished painter and ceramic artist. River Arts invites you to join us for this evening of music followed by a social reception with wine and treats.
As a working artist for over 25 years, Logan has been featured in shows throughout Maine and New England. She was the owner of Maine Coast Artist Gallery in Friendship and Maine Street Art in Brunswick. She was featured on the MPBN show, “Made in Maine.”
As a musician, Logan has played with many different groups. She began her music career as a church organist and choir director, having studied organ with Douglas Rafter of Portland and University of Southern Maine Music Department. She came to folk music in the early ’90s and has been playing and recording with many of the Maine folk scene artists. She was included on several of Gordon Bok’s CDs and did the cover art for his CD, “Other Eyes.” In 2012, Logan was on a Grammy nominated CD, called “Singing Through the Hard Times,” a tribute to Utah Philips. Most recently she has been playing with local bands, actively as a church musician and performing solo throughout the state of Maine.
River Arts is located at 241 U.S. Route 1 (north), Damariscotta. Call 563-1507 for additional information. Tickets are $15 and available at the door for this Friday Night Soiree.
