Heartwood summer camp has room for more young thespians
There is still time to register for Heartwood’s 17th session of Summer Camp for students entering grades 3-8, July 16-25 (enrollment for the older students’ camp is already at capacity). Heartwood’s theater camps teach performance skills and promote student confidence both on and off the stage, with a fundamental spirit of ensemble.
Scholarships are available upon request, thanks to the help of many local business donations and grant support.
“Kids Camp” is a popular eight-day program exploring the areas of storytelling, stage combat, improvisation, dance/mime/movement, mask and commedia, designed specifically for students entering grades 3-8. No prior experience necessary.
All students will work with a diverse and professional staff of five: Griff Braley-Heartwood’s artistic director and LA drama teacher; Karen Montanaro-mime/dance artist and teacher; Mark Bedell-Certified fight master and professional stuntman /fight choreographer; Stephen Shore-professional actor and certified fight instructor; Helena Farhi-professional actress and youth theater educator.
