Last call for reservations for Democrats’ Lobster Bake
There is still time to make reservations for this year’s Lincoln County Democratic Committee’s (LCDC) Family Fun Day Lobster Bake, taking place in Waldoboro from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 6.
“Folks can make reservations via our secure ActBlue online reservation portal all the way up to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4,” said Geoff Bates, organizer of this year’s bake. “Jeff Hurd’s crew at The Narrows Tavern in Waldoboro, our caterer, is super flexible, and we want as many of our friends and neighbors who wish to attend to be able to sign up!”
“The Family Fun Day Lobster Bake is an event we all look forward to,” said Kelli Whitlock Burton, LCDC Chair. “And this year, guests will have the chance to chat informally with many of our hardworking legislators who recently completed the work of the people in Augusta.”
Elected officials and legislators who will attend the bake include Maine Senate Majority Leader Eloise Vitelli (SD 24, Woolwich); state Sen. Cameron Reny (SD 13, Round Pond); state Reps. Lydia Crafts (HD 46, Newcastle) and Holly Stover (HD 48, Boothbay); District Attorney Natasha Irving (PD 6, Waldoboro); Lincoln County Sheriff Todd Brackett; and Chair of the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners Bill Blodgett (District 2, Waldoboro).
“We’re also thrilled to honor former LCDC chairs Chris and Valarie Johnson as our honorary chairs of the lobster bake,” added Burton. “It’s an opportunity for us to recognize their steadfast dedication to Democratic principles and the growth of our organization over the years, which has truly shaped the political landscape of Lincoln County.”
The lobster bake is open to the public. This all-American event features the Democratic big tent, live music, raffles, games, local oysters and grassroots politicking at its most personal, complete with hot dog, vegan or lobster dinners with all the traditional accompaniments.

The LCDC uses the money they raise through this and other fundraising initiatives to support their local efforts in Lincoln County. Its grassroots mission is to organize volunteers and communicate with voters in support of candidates who believe in the Democratic ideals and principles of government by, of, and for all the people.
