Lincoln Theater's MET opera schedule announced
The 2014-15 Metropolitan Opera schedule at the Lincoln Theater is set and tickets are now. The theater is proud to continue with its ninth season broadcasting high-definition performances live from the stage of the Metropolitan Opera House via satellite.
Performance schedule
In 2014: Verdi's “Macbeth,” Saturday, Oct. 11, encore Saturday, Oct. 18; Mozart's “Le Nozze di Figaro,” Saturday, Oct 18; Bizet's “Carmen,” Saturday, Nov. 1; Rossini's “Il Barbiere di Siviglia,” Saturday, Nov. 22; Wagner's “Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg,” Saturday, Dec. 13.
Continuing in 2015: Lehar's “The Merry Widow,” Saturday, Jan. 17; Offenbach's “Les Contes D'Hoffmann,” Saturday, Jan. 31; Iolanta “Bluebeard's Castle,” Saturday, Feb. 14; Rossini's “La Donna del Lago,” Saturday, March 14 and Pagliacci's “Cavalleria Rusticana,” Saturday, April 25.
Pre-opera talks
Dr. Morton Achter returns to offer insightful and thought-provoking pre-opera talks for the following selected broadcasts.
During Pumpkinfest, “Macbeth and Macbeth,” Saturday, Oct. 11 with an encore Wednesday, Oct. 15; “The Life of Figaro,” Saturday, Nov. 22; In 2015: “Opera and/vs Operetta,” Saturday, Jan. 17 and “Bel canto: Artifice and Art,” Saturday, March 14.
Ticket prices for the new season are $25 adult/$23 Lincoln Theater members and $5/youth 18 and under. Due to an increase in costs, we will no longer be offering a senior discount. Season subscribers, however, enjoy an additional 10 percent off.
