Volunteers are very special people, and that is never more evident than at the LincolnHealth facilities in Boothbay Harbor and Damariscotta.

“Over the last 12 months, 259 volunteers provided more than 16,000 hours of dedicated work to our organization,” commented LincolnHealth Director of Volunteer Services Connie Bright. “Every spring during National Volunteer Week we recognize the many volunteers who enrich the lives of our patients and staff with their compassion and hard work. They greet and guide patients throughout the hospital, they donate their time and talents working directly with patients, working in data entry, assisting in the coffee shop, and working as receptionists and groundskeepers,” she said.

“The most precious treasure we have is our time,” commented LincolnHealth President Jim Donovan. “Our volunteers, along with members of the Miles Memorial Hospital League and the St. Andrews Auxiliary, make a generous donation of this treasure providing support throughout our organization. While they are made up of individuals from every walk of life and are diverse in many ways, they have at least one thing in common. They give of themselves to others, and by extension, they give themselves to the whole community,” Donovan said.

“So on behalf of our board of trustees, our medical staff, our employees, our patients and our residents, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for your thoughtful generosity. And, if you see a volunteer at one of our facilities, or working with any of the not-for-profit organizations in this region, take a moment and say thanks,” he added.
