LincolnHealth reports 19 COVID-19 cases for week of May 30, 10 for week of June 6
LincolnHealth reported 19 new COVID-19 cases and 10 new cases for the weeks of May 30 and June 6 respectively. The positivity rate fell from the week of May 23’s 9.77% to 6.25% and then to 3.89%. Positive cases are at their lowest since mid-July 2021.
Breakthrough cases, those who have been vaccinated and contracted the virus, are at their lowest since March, though they continue to represent nearly three quarters of all cases. LincolnHealth attributes the higher number of breakthrough cases to the growing prevalence of vaccinations.
LincolnHealth is preparing to deliver vaccines for children six months to four years old, though the process has not yet been finalized. Announcements concerning vaccine delivery for the age group will be posted to LincolnHealth’s Facebook page.
The hospital’s 40 Belvedere Road testing center officially closed June 4 and testing is now being done through primary care practices, said LincolnHealth’s John Martins. Pre-operative testing is now being done on the Watson Center’s surgery office on the second floor. Anyone who needs to be tested should contact their primary care provider’s office, said Martins.
