'Maintaining functional strength and balance to prevent falls' at The Lincoln Home
Aging is inevitable. At the Lincoln Home, we seek to empower seniors with information and education to age on their own terms with control over their health and well-being. Learn about maintaining functional strength and balance to prevent falls at our Empowered Aging Series, Monday, March 27, 3-4 p.m.
The talk will be presented by Erica Robertson, fitness director of U-ExCel at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, Division of Geriatric Medicine. Erica is an expert in geriatric fitness and exercise prescription. The Balancing Act program is an evidence-based balance enhancement program for anyone wanting to improve their balance, stability and reduce the threat of falls. Balancing Act has an easy-to-use manual that was designed with the assistance of older adults and those with vision impairments. The program will be filmed for “Spotlight on Seniors.”
Join us for one or all of our Empowered Aging Educational Series, Mondays through April 17.
The Lincoln Home is located at 22 River Road, Newcastle. Call Steve Raymond at 563-3350 with any questions, or visit our website at www.lincoln-home.org.
