Merry Auld Tea Company presents Harbor Fest Blend Tea
Boothbay Harbor Fest is approaching quickly! Wanser’s Natural Market, home of the Merry Auld Tea Company, is gearing up. They have created a wonderful organic tea to celebrate the 10-day event composed of gunpowder green tea, hibiscus and calendula petals and rosehips.
Like other green teas, the gunpowder variety is associated with a number of important health benefits. Gunpowder tea leaves are rolled into small pellets that expand when steeped, releasing the flavor and nutrients. Some studies show that hibiscus reduces blood pressure and cholesterol, aids in digestive issues and boosts the immune system, and helps with inflammatory problems.
Rosehips, a citrusy fruit seen all along the Maine coast, compliment this tea. Rosehips contain 50 percent more Vitamin C than oranges, making them superior in immune boosting. They are also known for improving stomach and kidney disorders, inflammation, diabetes, and cholesterol. Calendula petals are added making this tea look like one of our amazing sunsets. Calendula is used medicinally for its healing properties and anti-inflammatory benefits. Together, these ingredients (hot or cold) create a healthy, no calorie, refreshing drink, making it a friendly choice if you're watching your waistline.
This delicious Harbor Fest Blend Tea is available at Wanser’s Natural Market, located at 1038 Wiscasset Road (the old Boothbay Fire Station)/Route 27) in Boothbay. Hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m to 4pm.
The tea will also be available for sampling at the Boothbay Harbor Fest booth at the Boothbay Common during the Thursday Farmer’s Market. And Wanser’s Natural Market and Merry Auld Tea Company will be at the Wellness Fair during the Festival on Sunday, Sept. 4, 8 am to noon at Sherman Field, next to the Boothbay Region High School, serving up healthy snacks, tea and smoothies!
