On Sunday, March 17, the Opus One Big Band will be performing at the Wiscasset Middle High School at 5 p.m.
The Opus One Big Band is comprised of professional Maine musicians who support Maine music programs by performing benefit concerts throughout the state. The band has been playing for over 20 years and has performed for church concert series, music booster fundraisers, and other charitable events. The band is currently under the direction of Doug Kennedy and includes music educators and performers from across the state.
The concert will include student soloists from the Wiscasset Music Department and appearances by members of the Wiscasset Middle High School bands.
Tickets will be available at the door ($5 students/seniors, $10 adults, $20 family). There will be baked goods for sale, a 50/50 raffle, music department T-shirts, and a dance floor.
