Paint party benefit for Feed Our Scholars Feb. 8
Everone had so much fun during the first paint night, Wiscasset Feed Our Scholars Backpack Initiative decided to do it again! On Friday, Feb. 8, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Feed Our Scholars will hold a second paint party in St. Philip’s church hall, 12 Hodge St., Wiscasset. For the suggested donation of $30, all art materials are provided by Sue Begin of Augusta’s Cre8tive Events. Also included will be a delectable array of home baked desserts and nonalcoholic beverages to help energize those creative impulses.
Begin will be guiding attendees as people dob and dab their way to producing a lovely winter painting of a chickadee in the snow, possibly for a Valentine’s Day gift, or to proudly display in one’s home. This event is open to all ages, and no painting experience or expertise is necessary; Ms Begin helps all have an enjoyable experience.
To add to the fun, troubadour for many of Feed Our Scholars’ events Matt O’Donnell will again be strumming as the paint flies onto the canvases. Who knows? Maybe he’ll be inspired to put down his guitar and pick up a paintbrush himself! Time will tell.
Feed Our Scholars provides nutritious, easy-to-prepare weekend meals during the school year to chronically hungry children attending Wiscasset schools and offers that support during the summer months for those taking part in the area’s summer feeding program.
Space is limited for the paint party. While people are able to walk in the night of the event, for planning purposes, it is important to register for tickets ahead of time. It would be a shame to arrive only to find that there were no more canvases or paint.
Contact St. Philip’s Church at 882-7184, leaving a name, number of attendees, and a return phone number for verification, or contact Sharman at 687-8258 or email her at pakngo@comcast.net. Don’t miss out on participating in this fun way to support local food insecure kids.
