Republicans offer $1,000 Weston Scholarship
The Lincoln County Republican Committee (LCRC) is accepting applications for the Helen Weston Scholarship Award of $1,000 this year. Scholarship proceeds may be used by recipients to pay portions of tuition, living or other expenses associated with college-level academic education or specialized technical or vocational training.
All students residing in Lincoln County including those attending Medomak Valley High School, Coastal Christian School, Lincoln Academy, Boothbay Region High School, Wiscasset Middle High School, Wiscasset Christian Academy, and students in home schooled programs are eligible.
Helen Weston was the first woman to serve as a Lincoln County Commissioner. She died while serving in office. Her husband, George Weston, established a scholarship fund in her memory and started giving awards of the interest monies in 1991. Since the funds inception, LCRC has awarded 17 scholarships to deserving students of Lincoln County.
Applications are available at the listed schools or can be requested by letter to: Lincoln County Republican Committee, P.O. Box 653, Waldoboro, ME 04572. Completed applications may be returned electronically or be returned to the same address by April 20.
