River Arts announces new director
River Arts in Damariscotta welcomes Daryl Burkhard of Waldoboro as its new executive director of operations.
Daryl’s broad experiences in management, finance and creative arts make her especially qualified to direct the organization. In addition to her BS degree (Michigan State University) and MS degree in Natural Resource Policy and Planning (University of Georgia), Daryl has a master of accountancy (University of Georgia). She pursued and developed her interest in art through a four-year program at Studio Incamminati School for Contemporary Realist Art in Pennsylvania where she was awarded a Diploma of Fine Art.
Introduced at a recent opening reception at River Arts, Daryl was a focus of attention as artists and visitors greeted her for the first time. She has recently moved to Maine and is enthusiastic about Maine’s beautiful landscape. Her excitement about the arts’ community and future possibilities was evident as she spoke about her hopes for River Arts.
River Arts is located at 241 Route 1 north in Damariscotta. Open hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
