Rollover on West Alna Road sends three to hospital
During the rainstorm on Thursday, March 17, Wiscasset police responded to a rollover crash on West Alna Road, near 300 West Alna Road.
The driver and two passengers were trapped in the car, which had come to a rest on its roof. The vehicle had been traveling southbound when the operator saw a vehicle making a left turn into a driveway ahead of him. He pulled onto the soft shoulder, and lost control of the car. The driver was likely driving too fast for conditions, which were wet with poor visibility.
The driver swerved into the northbound lane and hit the ditch on that side of the road, causing the car to roll over in the ditch upside down.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Det. Jared Mitkus had arrived before Wiscasset Police, and told Cline that three individuals were trapped in the car. Wiscasset Fire and Ambulance personnel arrived shortly thereafter and pulled the three people out of the car. They were identified as driver Tyler Woestman, 20, of Brunswick; Jeana Lang, 21, of Alna; and Casey Trefry, 22 of Alna.
All three were transported to Mid Coast Hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries. All were treated and released, according to the hospital.
The crash was still under investigation.
