Saltwater Artists Gallery featuring jewelers and wood-turner
The Saltwater Artists is proud to have three jewelers and a wood-turner in their gallery.
Cat Crozier uses semi-precious gemstone beads that have unique spiritual and healing properties. They are woven with leather into various designs inspired by the beauty of Pemaquid.
Lynn Thompson is known as "The Seaglass Lass" as she only uses sea glass found on the shoreline. "I feel a sense of delight every time I see a unique piece of sea glass with the glowing intensity that only the forces of nature can create". Lynn teaches classes in the Midcoast.
The third jeweler is Linda Paine who weaves necklaces, earrings, rings, and bracelets with silver or yellow or rose gold-filled wires.
Tom Raymond began turning wood in high school and renewed this interest after retiring to Damariscotta. He turns segmented bowls using as many as 16 different kinds of wood. They are finished with five coats of polyurethane gel followed by wax.
The jewelry and wooden pieces can be seen at the Saltwater Artists Gallery at 3056 Bristol Rd., New Harbor, 1/4 mile before the Pemaquid Lighthouse. It is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
