Seacoast Community Orchestra’s fundraiser
Seacoast Community Orchestra’s Silent Auction can be viewed at Skidompha Public Library, 184 Main St., Damariscotta, through Saturday, March 17. The bidding ends Saturday at 11 a.m.
Items in the auction include a Mongolian yurt chess set, a remote controlled model sailboat; paintings, sculpture, pottery, and … you’ve got to see it all for yourself!
All proceeds support the three ensembles – Prima, Mezza and Avanzata - that comprise the Seacoast Orchestras divided by playing ability rather than age.
Members of the Prima group can read music and have a basic knowledge of first position; Mezza musicians possess intermediate abilities including significant music reading and ensemble skills. At this level musicians tackle moderately challenging music for strings.
The Avanzata Orchestra is for advanced performers. During the spring semester this is a symphony orchestra with wind, brass, and percussion players as well as a full complement of strings.
The Seacoast Community Orchestra offers two free public concerts at the Lincoln Theater in Damariscotta. Weekly rehearsals are held at Great Salt Bay School.
Players of all ages and skill levels are always welcome to join us! For more information visit http://seacoastorchestra.org
