Sheepscot Valley Chorus rehearses Fauré's ‘Requiem’

Sheepscot Valley Chorus is accepting new members as we begin rehearsals for our spring semester on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 7 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Wiscasset. New members may join during the first two rehearsals, after which membership is closed. For more information, call Linda Blanchard at 207-380-2768.
The chorus will perform the beloved “Requiem” of Gabriel Fauré, featuring baritone soloist John David Adams, on Saturday, April 26 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 27 at 3 p.m.
Continuing our tradition of supporting local youth, the program also will highlight the talents of three high school students, recipients of the annual Sheepscot Valley Chorus Music Scholarships.
Founded over 30 years ago, Sheepscot Valley Chorus is led by Artistic Director Linda Blanchard and accompanist Sean Fleming, both of Damariscotta.
Recent concerts include last season’s acclaimed performance of Brahms Requiem, the spectacular Rutter Gloria, and Saint-Saëns’ beautiful Christmas Oratorio, all performed with professional chamber orchestra.
