"Welcome Back, Billie Best" is a retelling of the Parable of the Prodigal Son, delightfully set in the Roaring ‘20s, and highlighting the best of the decade's musical styles. Helen Newell leads the show as the irresponsible Billie, while her hard-working sister is played by Sarah Begin.
Their father, newspaper tycoon William Best, is portrayed by Richard Kinney, supported by his able staff, secretaries Phoebe Pugh and Amelia Rosko, photographer Benji Pugh, and Chief Editor Hermione Blanchard-Fleming. The kids take on many roles as the story follows Billie through her exploits into the wild side of the 20s, including a nightclub where the famous Charleston brings down the house.
The stock market crash means an end to the party, sending Billie home in search of forgiveness. Written by Joe Cox and Jody W. Lindh, the show includes a spectacular piano score, featuring pianist Sean Fleming.
At just under 40 minutes in duration, the show is sure to be a treat — don't miss it!
