St. Cecilia Choir's Lessons and Carols
Dec. 12 and 13 are destined to be special occasions when St. Cecilia Chamber Choir will present its Ceremony of Lessons and Carols. Concert dates are Friday, Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at Newcastle’s Second Congregational Church and on Saturday, Dec. 13 at the Bowdoin Chapel in Brunswick.
For 19 years, St. Cecilia Chamber Choir, under the direction of Linda Blanchard and accompanied by Sean Fleming, has presented Ceremony of Lessons and Carols. The choir will sing carols and anthems, old and new, interspersed with readings from poetry and scripture.
Participating “urchins” (children who sing and attend to candle lighting) will be Hermione Blanchard-Fleming and Tristan Hearth.
The audience will be invited to participate by joining the choir in singing selected traditional Christmas carols.
Tickets ($15/adults, students free) may be purchased in advance at Sherman’s Books and Stationery in Boothbay Harbor, Treats, Wiscasset and Maine Coast Book Shop & Café in Damariscotta; and the Gulf of Maine Bookshop in Brunswick; online at www.ceciliachoir.org, or at the door.
