Strawberry Festival invites crafters
St. Philip’s Church, 12 Hodge St., Wiscasset, invites craftspeople to be part of its family-friendly, old-fashioned 70th Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. As the Festival will be taking place primarily out-of-doors, crafters are offered the opportunity, for a fee of $25, to have a 10X10 space on the church grounds designated for their use. Craftspeople should plan on bringing their own canopy and display materials.
The main attraction, of course, is the time-honored strawberry shortcake assemblage: homemade biscuit, native berries, real whipped cream or locally made ice cream. As in years past, there will also be fresh-picked quarts of berries for sale; let St. Philip’s people do the picking for you.
The Bargain Basement with loads of amazing deals, as well as an antique table, a hot dog stand, a bake table, and a plant table will also be available for some shopping therapy. The fun and delicious pie auction will happen at noon. A children’s area with games and activities for the little ones will be open for their delight.
For more information or to request an application, please call St. Philip’s at 882-7184, leaving a brief message and a call-back number. Alternately, visit https://stphilipswiscasset.org messaging the Strawberry Festival committee.
