Sue Kibbe is the featured artist of the week at the Saltwater Artists Gallery in New Harbor on Route 130, 1/4 mile before the Pemaquid Lighthouse. Her work can be seen daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
She is a resident of Southport Island and has pursued virtually every media while painting and teaching with a specialty in portraiture, which she does on commission.
Her philosophy is, “The more you experience the thrill of painting from life, the more addicted you become. I try to let my enthusiasm translate into both my painting and teaching. Classic romantic realism with a healthy serving of impressionism has become for me the best ways of extolling the beauty of God’s world.”
On Saturday, Aug. 20, several Saltwater artists will be painting plein air around the area. Their work can be viewed the next day at the Summer Open House, from 1 - 4 p.m.
