Dear Editor:

Please support Edward Polewarczyk, candidate for House District 47 (Wiscasset, Alna, Whitefield and Jefferson). Edward Polewarczyk, often simply referred to as “Ed,” makes it easier than pronouncing his last name!

I am voting for Ed because he wants to bring new business to Maine. He wants our state to be more competitive! How do we do this? We lower or eliminate state income taxes! As it stands right now, we compete with nine other states in the country who do not have income taxes!

I am voting for Ed because he wants an audit of state government to identify the many areas of wasteful spending. We all need to tighten our budgets during this unprecedented time of inflation!

I am voting for Ed because he supports policies that lower energy costs. We all face higher costs for gasoline prices to get to work and higher costs for fuel to heat our homes. This is creating fear for senior citizens and families who try to determine how much to spend on fuel and how much to spend on food.

I am voting for Ed because he believes in enhancing school safety and respecting the rights of parents. As we see and hear more about the indoctrination of our children, more and more parents are concerned about woke policies in schools and hyper-sexualization of our children through books available in school libraries portraying sexual acts inappropriate for children. Parents are the source young children need regarding these sensitive subjects. When we send our children to school, we expect them to be taught the basic subjects and how to think, not what to think.  

I am voting for Ed because he favors finding ways to make healthcare, including mental healthcare, more affordable. As we watch criminal activities throughout our state and country, it becomes more and more apparent that mental healthcare must be brought to the forefront.

I will be voting for Ed Polewarczyk on Nov. 8 for House District 47.  I ask you to join me. He will serve us well!
