Tapestry Singers Memorial Concert in April
Tapestry Singers will perform classics from Mozart and Bach with a full orchestra on Saturday, April 12 and Sunday, April 13 at the Lincoln Theater in Damariscotta. Mozart’s final composition, the lyrical “Requiem,” and Bach's “Cantata 106,” one of the greatest works in the classical literature, will round out the program.
One of Bach’s earliest compositions (at age 22), “Cantata 106” was most likely written for the funeral of Bach's uncle. It is a devout and sensitive work and full of optimism for the afterlife.
Both of these compositions celebrate the lives of those who have died.
With this in mind, Tapestry will print “In Memoriam” pages in the concert program book. Donors (whose names will be listed, unless they wish to remain anonymous) may include a brief memorial message in addition to the names of those remembered.
If you wish to remember a loved one in this manner, you may send a donation of an amount you feel appropriate, along with information for your memorial, to Tapestry Singers, P.O. Box 666, Newcastle, ME 04553. Write “Memorial” in the memo line of your check. All donations are tax deductible.
