Texas man sentenced for sexual assault
A Texas man who allegedly sexually assaulted a juvenile on Westport Island has pleaded guilty to one count of felony sexual contact.
Stacey Parker, 37, of Little Elm, Texas pleaded guilty to one count of Class B unlawful sexual contact at the Lincoln County Unified Criminal Court Nov. 23.
Parker was sentenced to three years in prison with all but nine months suspended and two years of probation.
Parker was originally charged with three counts of Class B unlawful sexual contact, but two of those charges were dismissed.
According to an affidavit, Parker allegedly made illicit contact with a juvenile while he was living on Westport Island in 2010. The juvenile was not a relative of Parker's.
After the juvenile spoke with friends and family about the alleged touching, the matter was eventually referred to the authorities.
Parker was arrested July 1 by the Little Elm Police Department on an arrest warrant from Lincoln County Sheriff's Det. Scott Hayden.
Parker was then extradited to Maine and was sent to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset.
While he was in jail Parker was allegedly assaulted by another inmate. According to court records Casey Kleykamp, 28, of Boothbay was arrested Aug. 3 and charged with Class D assault after he allegedly struck Parker.
According to Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Paul Rubashkin's report, Two Bridges Regional Jail staff were alerted to a potential fight in the R6 housing unit in the jail last summer.
Rubashkin wrote that Kleykamp had allegedly approached an officer at the jail and asked to be let into Parker's cell. Rubashkin wrote that once Kleykamp was inside Parker's cell, he allegedly punched him several times.
According to Rubashkin, Parker reportedly had several bruises and scrapes on his face near his left eye.
According to the affidavit, Parker said he believed the attack was due to Kleykamp reading a newspaper article where Parker's alleged criminal charges were listed. Parker allegedly said that he and Kleykamp had previously traveled on the same extradition bus back to Lincoln County.
When Rubashkin spoke with Kleykamp, he allegedly refused to talk about the alleged assault, but did reportedly say that he “had a personal problem with Parker due to Parker lying to him about his charges.”
