Won’t You Be My Neighbor? (PG-13; 1 hour, 34 minutes)

From Academy Award-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville (20 Feet from Stardom), Won't You Be My Neighbor? takes an intimate look at America's favorite neighbor: Mister Fred Rogers. A portrait of a man whom we all think we know, this emotional and moving film takes us beyond the zip-up cardigans and the land of make-believe, and into the heart of a creative genius who inspired generations of children with compassion and limitless imagination.  Final screenings Thu Aug 2 at 2 PM & 7 PM and Fri Aug 3 at 2 PM only. “The Soldier's Tale”  -  Join us to celebrate VentiCordi's 10th anniversary season in this very special program which includes Georges Auric’s Trio for Oboe, Clarinet & Bassoon, and Igor Stravinsky’s L'Histoire du Soldat (The Soldier’s Tale) with Andrew Fenniman, The Soldier; Jennifer Hodgson, The Devil; Paul Hodgson, Narrator; Dean Stein, Violin; Gary Gorczyca, Clarinet; Kristen Sonneborn, Bassoon; Matt Sonneborn, Trumpet; William Blossom, Double Bass; Michael Clayville, Trombone; Aaron Trant, Percussion; and Robert Lehman, Conductor. Tickets: $20/adult , $15/senior, and  $5/youth 18 and under. The performance will be on Friday, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m.

The Beatles' “Yellow Submarine” -  An icon of psychedelic pop culture, The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine comes to Lincoln Theater! The Beatles’ classic 1968 animated feature film is being released to select theaters across North America in celebration of its 50th Anniversary. The film’s songs and score were remixed in 5.1 stereo surround sound at UMG’s Abbey Road Studios by music mix engineer Peter Cobbin. Due to the delicate nature of the hand-drawn original artwork, no automated software was used in the digital clean-up of the film’s restored photochemical elements.  This was all done by hand, frame by frame. (G; 1 hour, 25 minutes) Saturday, Aug. 4, Sunday, Aug. 5; and at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 8.

“Annie, JR!” -  The youth from the Boothbay and CLC YMCA theater camp return to Lincoln Theater for a fully staged Broadway Junior Musical, chosen by the campers themselves. “Annie, JR” is adapted from the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, with a beloved book and score by Tony Award-winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin. With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy. Come celebrate the stars of the future with fun for all ages. (1 hour) Tickets $5 at the door. Playing Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 1 and 4 PM. Presented in partnership with Lincoln Theater.

“The Guardians” -  Set in France in 1916, the women of the Paridier farm sustain the family property in the absence of their husbands and sons in this affecting human drama of love, loss, and resilience from acclaimed filmmaker Xavier Beauvois (Of Gods and Men).  (NR; 2 hours 15 minutes - In French with English subtitles) Plays at 2 and 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9.
